Because they do take power and circutry to convert invisible light into
amplified visible light, today's IR 'glasses' are more like binoculars, or at
least 'goggles'.
Depending on how futuristic this setting is, I see no reason why future IR
glasses could not be less than a cm thick and recharge daily on minimum solar
power.

A thermodynamics professor wrote a take-home exam for his graduate students.
It had one question: Is Hell Exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic
(absorbs heat)? Support your answer with a proof.

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas
cools off when it expands and heats up when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So, we need
to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are
leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it
will not leave.  Therefore, no souls are leving. As for how many souls are
entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world
today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their
religion, you will go to Hell.  Since there are more then one of these
religions and since people do not belong to more then more then one religion,
we can project that all people and all souls go to Hell.    With birth and
death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase
exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell
because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in
Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand as souls are added.

This gives two possibilites:
#1) If Hell is expanding at a slower rate then the rate at which souls enter
Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell
breaks loose.

#2) Of course, if Hell is expanding at a rate faster then the incease of souls
in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Ms. Therese Banyan during my
Freshman year, that "it'll be a cold night in Hell before I sleep with you,"
and take into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having
sexual relations with her, then #2 cannot be true, and so Hell is exothermic.

The student got the only A.

Coming home from work the other night..
Cop sees me, follows.. I am just hanging and driving normally.. He decides he
is going to bust this long haired freak..  So he pulls me over and starts his
spill.. I got very fangish..  he said, "you know what the speed limit is?"  I

I'd have to say New Genesis and N'Orleans as well, to go with the crowd. :)
NGC is one of the few places that really goes with the original theme, IMO. A
massive, deserted relic of 21st century technology. N'Orleans has style. the
noble houses, mixed with the graveyard, bayou, and even the necro cathedral
*chuckle*.. When I think about that place, I can pretty much visualize what it
looks like. And that's cool.
Close runners up would probably be Wolf Moon Valley (magically corrupted
forest. Rah) and Guru's test track area, which I remember having loads of fun
exploring as a newbie. Although I was rather dissapointed that I didn't find
anything, it was still cool ;)

Greetings, all...
Well, summer time is fast approaching - it's officially here in about a week!
-and I'm afraid I have some bad (depending on who you are, this might be GOOD
news.. heh..) news. I won't have a computer of my own at my summer apartment,
and will only be able to connect every so often, either at my BF's or at the
library.  I'm afraid I won't be in for much RP. I do not plan on being gone
forever, and my summer seems slightly unbearable in this regard.. I haven't
had as much time anyway this semester and I really miss the RP I used to have.
At any rate, Etra and Melira are going to become rare and prized commodities
(see... because I won't be on much, everyone will want me/them when we/they
*are* on). There may be a *tps post regarding this, and there may not - it
depends on whether or not I can find a viable IC reason, but they're both a
little reclusive, so maybe I won't need one. I'm babbling now. In short, I
hope you all have a good summer, I will continue logging in to read *tps and
such and will be reachable via page (altho with delays). Thanks for
everything... and I hope to be my old RP-crazed self come fall!
