Real life is as lonely as can be and I'm about to go stir crazy if something don't change soon. I will be losing net access by the end of this month most likely since I don't have money to catch my access account up for the last 12 monts, my provider is giving me a deal.. I only owe for 6 months.. Still can't pay it. Oh well, most of the people I know on here don't talk to me anymore anyhow.. Unless I shower them with pages then they'll go back to doing what ever they do.. I've been doing alot better lately brain wise and I've gotten alot of what I would consider good building done and I'll finish it before I go. I really appreciate the friends that have helped me lately on my project and just been there as a shoulder to lean on.. You know who you are.. Love ya lots. Anyhow just had to get this out of me tonight cause its so damn quiet on here and I'm about to cry.. I hate CS and really think you people that go there are scum buckets. Its Treason ya know.. So, I'll go back to sitting here alone again.. Trying to do my best to do what I can here.. You all enjoy yourselves and what ever you are doing that keeps you from wanting to talk with me.. There's an art show there that even the skeptics among you would drool over - and it's there until the 20th of November. It's the 'Think Like Amano' show. Now, if you don't know who he is, roll these things around in your head a while and see if any ring a bell. He did the character designs for Vampire Hunter D, as well as Gatchaman, hideously redone recently as 'G-force'... well, what can I say, he didn't see what Turner did to it... What some of you might be more familiar with would be the fact that he's done all the character designs for the 'Final Fantasy' series of games... The credits list goes on pretty far, but it's an amazing show. I was floored, and that happens very rarely. GET THERE!!! If you have something you'd like to donate, memory or money or the like, contact me, or send mail to *gifts, and Quinn will point you in the right direction (I hope). The machine only has four simms slots, so if we wanted to go higher than 96 meg of ram, we'd have to pull the 16's, or upgrade the motherboard. These guys respond to users like no company I've ever seen before. It's incredible. They're doing everything right. I wouldn't be surprised if in two years BeOS had 50% of the content-production market share. Microsoft has been looking at them heavily. Netscape's porting Fastrack to BeOS. The system is fast, the system is stable, and they've got a kick-ass team. Apple may be on the turn-around track, but BeOS has a pretty good head start, and they've got a really excited developer community. This will no doubt become apparent when BeOS for Intel is released next February, probably for download from their web site. -------------------------- Message 391 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Nov 25 23:53:44 1997 EST From: Janus (#3597) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Re: BeOS Me too about support and dev community... I'm the only one who uses my computer, so I could care less about multi-user stuff. They've only got 50 engineers on staff, and the Intel port's their primary priority at the moment. They're using Quake to debug the UDP part of their networking stack. They're adding about 5-10 apps to the BeWare lists a day, everything from Word Processors to Image Editors to Eye Candy. I haven't ported MOO to BeOS because I have a perfectly good FreeBSD box and a perfectly good SGI to run it on. From someone 'in the industry', I can tell you that Macs dominate the content creation industry. There are some things that all Macs have that make content creation so much easier, such as a truly windowed interface, OS-native color matching, multiple-file opening system-wide, etc. PCs generally have a better architecture, Windows NT 4.0 workstation has a better foundation than any MacOS version does. Be, Inc. readily announces that the Intel platform is more stable (better documented, too) than the PowerMac platform, but again... it's not the computer, it's the OS.
